However, this was not always the case. Prior to April 24th of 1996, when the WNBA league first became established, there were no other options for women. Nonetheless, it was also during this time that one of the greatest centers ever to play women's basketball would come across a life changing experience. To become the first woman to become drafted not by the WNBA, but the NBA and to the worlds surprise, actually succeeded. This is her story.
