Which, of course, isn't necessarily a new development, but one gets a sense that it's growing more magnified. Some important folks are pushing for Russ to come off the bench, with Frank Vogel apparently the biggest obstacle, for #BasketballReasons. Westbrook is apparently not paying his coach's loyalty back through receptiveness and positivity during film sessions. And all of this raises the question of why the Lakers didn't pay a few extra bucks to add Scott Brooks, who has a longstanding and strong relationship with Russ, onto Vogel's staff.
Then again, how the Lakers spend their money is often reason to scratch your head, and indicative of priorities that don't feel well-placed.
As always, a lot to sift through.
